LTT Global Communications Sdn Bhd in joint association with Institute of Professional Development - Open University Malaysia and with MSC Malaysia as our strategic partner organized The 1st Asia Pacific Regional Mobile Learning & Edutainment Conference 2007.
This year’s theme was “Education Beyond the Classroom Mobile Learning the Future is Here !”
The conference was held from 7-9 August, 2007 in KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia.
The conference took into account 3 key areas as outlined in the 9th Malaysia Plan, namely; content development, human capital development and bridging the digital divide in planning the program for the conference.
The conference brought together high-level decision makers from education, business and government. The conference aimed to drive mobile learning adoption and innovation, making it the most important networking venue for experts, practitioners and newcomers from all over the world at the same time enabling participants to develop multinational and cross-industry contacts & partnerships, as well as to enhance their knowledge, expertise, and abilities.
It also helped in understanding of the challenges faced in providing technology tools to support the learning process and ease the creation of instruction material using mobile technologies. The conference, workshop and exhibition aimed to show transformation in learning and teaching using handheld, mobile and ubiquitous technologies. We are looking at handheld computers, mobile phones and the possibilities of 1:1 ICT access where every learner, everywhere would have an inexpensive device and the opportunity to learn anytime at any place. This conference is aimed as a catalyst for change and new thinking.
The conference attracted about 180 participants both locally and globally. Our international participants came from 13 countries namely Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Philiphines, Hong Kong, Australia, United States of America, United Kingdom, Iran, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Mauritius. |
